Inner Wisdom Counseling
I grew up in Northeastern Pennsylvania with my mother and grandmother. I was a first generation college student and paid my own way through school. I received a Bachelor’s degree from Connecticut College, a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from University of Colorado, and a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from University of Utah. Growing up in a culture that was very different from my own led to my interest and passion for multicultural counseling and women’s issues. That is why I decided to focus my degree specialty in those two areas. I have over 8 years post Master's degree clinical experience treating presenting concerns including:
· Experiences with trauma, sexual assault, childhood abuse, domestic violence, family concerns, or PTSD (combat or other trauma). · Body image issues · Mood including depression, bipolar disorder, or other mood problems · Anxiety including general anxiety, social anxiety, panic attacks, or other anxiety · Stress management and adjustment issues · Lesbian/Gay/Bisexual/Transgender issues · Attention deficit disorder or other attention difficulties · Learning disabilities and other psychological (cognitive and personality) assessments · Career counseling · Learning how to cope with experiences of discrimination based on gender, culture, race, ethnicity, disability, age, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, size, or other identity Read an article recently published in the Association for Women in Psychology's (AWP) quarterly newsletter, entitled "Racism Within our Political Process." In my spare time I enjoy singing, cooking, drinking coffee, aerobics, and watching movies and critiquing them. 
I have presented at various national and international professional conferences on the topics of: Body Politics; Feminist Multicultural Counseling for Individuals, Groups, and Substance Abuse; Feminist Multicultural Mentoring; and my dissertation: “Housework, childcare, and inequality.” In addition, I am a trained sexual assault advocacy counselor.
